Since this is my first blog, I thought I'd let you know a little about myself...
I’m an optimist.
I’m an optimist.
Yes, I get into those griping, good-for-nothing moods at times, (don’t we all) but when all is said and done, I know I don’t really have anything to complain about. I have a roof over my head, food in my pantry, people who love me and the freedom to be who I want to be.
I’m content with my life.
After all, our world is what we make it (to a large extent) isn’t it? Noticing the little intricacies of life that are often overlooked creates a sense of inner peace and optimism. Happiness isn’t found in deep pockets, it’s created in our hearts. It can be found in a grandmother’s worn Bible, a child’s tattered blanket or the view from a front porch swing. These things aren’t pricey, but certainly invaluable.
I’m a southern gal.
It's hard to stay discouraged when you're from the south. If you're down in the dumps, there's always someone nearby that'll say, Pick yerself up frum yer bootstraps or Bless yer little heart! How can you stay feeling down when someone's rooting for you and asking God to bless you? Yes, everything southern makes me feel good. Suthan cookin’, country music and zany southernisms like let’s go summers , ya'll come back, and I’m fixin’ to, just bless my heart. I love my God, my family and my country. Yep. I’m an optimistic southern gal.
As cliché as it sounds, I try to keep on the sunny side of life. Rather than becoming overwhelmed by life’s heavy storms, I aim to discover the beauty in a single drop of rain.
Oh yes! Beautiful writing! You ARE an author and your post certainly shows it. I love your easy manner. I could imagine myself sitting on that porch swing and drinking a tall glass of iced sweet tea. Though I now live in the north, I am and always will be a southern girl. Thank you for sharing your thoughts on optimism. I loved it! Excellent! Bravo! Yee haw!
