Anchors Awhat?

Nano Nano

On November 1st, I shall boldly go (yikes!) where countless writers have gone before me--the unfathomable waters of NaNoWriMo. (Probably created by ages of author’s tears.) I’ll set out to conquer the treacherous literary sea. (Where’s my lifejacket?) I will not let squalls of sleepiness, or shady clouds of doubt, keep me from completing my voyage. (Or the piles of laundry, empty cupboards, or the dark circles that will appear under my eyes.) I’ll sacrifice all things (except an occasional bathroom break and a bite of food here and there… please, somebody feed me…) to successfully complete my journey through the rough draft of word waves. I shall not fail. (What? 30 days to write a novel? Am I crazy? Don’t answer that.)

Wait! There’s more. (Good grief! Writing a novel isn’t enough?) I’ve also pledged to NaBloPoMo to blog every day for the month of November. (Um… It may be an unintelligible mess of vocabulary, but I didn’t read anything about it being readable.)

I will be diligent. I will cling to my laptop as my lifeline. (Save me!)

My friends, have no qualms about my sanity. (As if!) I may be tousled about, perhaps thrown overboard a time or two, (I hope I don’t drown.) but on November 30th, I will alight my novel-blogged ship, and announce the notorious Latin phrase to the bookish, fiction world: “Veni, Vidi, Vici!” I came, I saw, I conquered! (Smiles.)
