I am not Normal

Do most redheads have fiery tempers? Is the world’s population generally overweight? For the most part, are drivers stupid? Are the majority of homeless people lazy? As a rule, are Chinese people intelligent?

I’m asking these stereotypical questions in an attempt to point something out. Exactly what and who is normal? I wonder if anyone can be typecast as such.

We are all different. Each individual on this planet is irreplaceable. We have diverse personalities, dreams, goals and characteristics. We display different temperaments and sensitivities. We can be bizarre, funny, mean, slow, scary, genius, odd, lazy or peculiar. How then, can any of us be normal? Why would anyone wish to be? To be normal is to be common, average or ordinary.

I certainly don’t want to be just an ordinary being. Do you see yourself as normal? I personally enjoy being abnormal. The hodgepodge of traits, habits, customs, gifts and faults is what makes me unique.

We should stop pigeon-holing people with labels. We are all strange and wonderful!

  1. Love this post!

One of my favourite adverts was this woman running up a hill and taking all her clothes off only to shout at the top of the hill 'I'm not normal!', it was for clothes sizes or something I think, and wanted people there is no right or wrong size, there's just you.

But, to answer your first question, yes. I'm a red head, I have a really bad temper. But I don't lose it that often, and I like to think it gives me a fire that makes my writing more passionate, so I don't stress to much about the red lol So there is a smidge of stereotypicalness in me lol! x
