The Art of Losing Yourself (Review)

The Art of Losing Yourself is the best book I’ve read in a while. I loved it!

Although it contains many facets, this book mainly focuses on the strained relationship between sisters Carmen Hart and Gracie Fisher. With elements of romance, trust, forgiveness, and faith, it’s a well-rounded story that ran me through a gamut of emotions. I love the characters, have become invested in them, and would love to discover a continuation of their story. (Sequel please!)

In The Art of Losing Yourselfby Kate Ganshert, (just as in her previous novel, A Broken Kind of Beautiful) the main character(s) make a slow, practical progression in their growth, giving an authenticity and believability to their transformations(s). This is a sign of a gifted writer—allowing the reader to advance through a story at a measured pace without losing their attention or curiosity.

The author’s sinuous prose kept me captivated. This is definitely one of those I-don’t-want-this-story-to-end stories, and I’ll most certainly be watching for future work from this author.

If you enjoy the Christian Fiction genre, I’ve no doubt you’ll love this book as much as I did.

I give this book a 5 star rating.

I received this book from the Blogging for Books program in exchange for this review.
