Through the last several years I’ve been drawn to stories
that take place during the WWII era. That dreadful time in history is so shrouded
in tragedy and mystery, so it’s nice to see tenderness and love peek from the
shadows.
Where Treasure Hides,
by Johnnie Alexander, is a story with historical details as well as (fictional)
romance. A thought that kept coming to mind as I read was ‘desperate times lead to desperate measures.’ We don’t know what
we’d do in certain situations unless we are faced with it ourselves. But
through such terrible prejudices and atrocities that abounded during WWII, this
book gently uncovers glimmers of hope, love and forgiveness.
If you are a lover of art, history, or romance, I feel
you’ll enjoy this book. It’s beautifully and tenderly written, and the
characters are easy to relate to.
