You First

I’ve kept journals since I was a child, from loose-leaf pages to pretty hardback books, like this one. There’s something cathartic about writing out your thoughts and desires, and also serves as an interesting and sometimes entertaining peek into my past.

You First: Journal Your Way to Your Best Life, by New York Bestselling author of Brunette Ambition, Lea Michele, is a charming, well thought out creation. I have to say, I thought the cover looked a little cheesy, but was pleased to find that the part I found cheesy—the photo of the woman (the author?) etc.—is just a paper slipcover. Yay!

Things I love about this journal:

·                     The hardback cover is pretty, (minus the slipcover) with a mauve and pink design motif, and only the title (YOU FIRST) on the front.
·                     The pages are lined! No writing uphill, messy entries.
·                     Each prompt is thought-provoking and creative.
·                     Makes a great gift, though I’m keeping mine. J

“You First” is about respecting and understanding what you really want—and then going out to achieve it.

Without the slipcover
From exercise and shopping lists, to family trees, personal goals and relationships, this keepsake journal is a treasure trove for discovering our true selves.

If you are a journal keeper, or someone who just wants to reexamine your goals and desires in life, this is an enjoyable avenue to do so. and enjoy coloring and or pen and pencil crafts, I can’t think of a single reason you would not adore this art book. The to/from section on the first page makes it easy to present it as a unique and thoughtful gift.
