Wow. This is an incredible cookbook! Especially when you have
someone in your family who has to watch what they eat due to heart disease.
There are some really tasty recipes, and they don’t make you feel as if you’re
missing something. They are flavorful and filling.
My favorite section so far is the soups. I love the ease of one
pot meals. The Rustic Tomato Soup (pg. 66) is so good, and simple to make. I
plan to make the Triple-Pepper and White Bean Soup next. My mouth is watering
thinking about it.
The recipe section is divided into the following sections:
· Appetizers, Snacks, and Beverages
· Soups
· Salads and Salad Dressings
· Seafood
· Poultry
· Meats
· Vegetarian Entrees
· Vegetables and Side Dishes
· Breads and Breakfast Dishes
· Desserts
The ingredients are mostly everyday items that you wont have to
search high and low for, and they don’t take all day. I haven’t tried the
desserts yet, but you better believe I will soon.
I highly recommend this cookbook. I don’t even mind that there
aren’t any photos, though that would be a great addition. Each recipe has calories, fat, cholesterol,
sodium, etc., per serving, and there are sections of the book with a lot of
other pertinent information.
