This
is a beautiful fictional retelling of the biblical story of Miriam, Moses’
sister! I love stories of history instilled with the imagination. It’s a
memorable novel with powerful choices and emotional decisions.
Miriam, by Mesu
Andrews,
is the second book in the Treasures Of The Nile series (following The Pharoah’s
Daughter.) After reading this novel, I hope to go back and read this author’s
other works.
The
author has written vivid scenes of Old Testament happenings, during the deliverance
of the Israelites and the plaques that follow.
I
feel I’ve visited Egypt during these times, and experienced the emotions,
fears, and frustrations. That’s what a book is supposed to do—make you feel
something…and this novel makes me feel a myriad of things.
This
is a beautifully written book.
