I love historical fiction, especially when it has a spiritual theme. This is a beautifully told story that takes place in Atlanta after the Civil War.
There are so many wonderful messages in this story that are meaningful and touching. It touches on friendships, racism, romance, and so much more. Laurel is an engaging character (as are the others) and I sympathized with her and was drawn to her struggles.
This is one of those books that stays with you, the characters feel like friends, and you don't want the story to end. I will be seeking out more of this authors work!
I received a complimentary copy from the publisher.
