Amish isn't my choice genre, but out of the Amish books I've read, it ranks right up there with one of my favorites.
I like that the darker life issues within the story aren't glossed over just because this is Christian or Amish fiction. The issues are tackled tastefully, but not whitewashed.
I also like Jemima and really empathize with her. She is likable and well-developed, and after her marriage is tested she shows considerable strength and growth.
This is an unvarnished look into the lives of an Amish community and the surrenders and victories of hearts.
I received a complimentary book from the publisher.
