Beyond the Tides

I've read several of Liz Johnson books and I've never been disappointed. I'm so excited to be starting this new series in this delightful island setting.

I love Meg and Oliver's past and how polar opposite they are in many ways. This makes for more interesting and rewarding growth and transformation. I can relate to both of them--Meg's reluctance to forget, and Oliver's hope to move on.  (Although Meg holding on to a prior experience for so long was a bit trying on my nerves at times.) Their slow-build reveals family secrets and propels them toward parallel goals.

This story, with the Christian themes of forgiveness and faith is a win in my book. It salves the past, making room for love and healing.
