I love a first-person narration, allowing me to sink into the character(s) and to feel their emotions, see what the see. I adore Mollie and Peter's story, and to learn that it was based on true accounts makes it all the more enjoyable!
Ms. Kirkpatrick gave me wonderful visuals in the 1800s setting she created, and the characters are easy to connect with and feel familiar now. The research the author has done is evident and makes me eager to read more of her work.
