I was surprised by the impact the "Growing in Spiritual Formation: study book made on me. I mostly gained from the questions presented because they initiated self reflection (more than I expected.) I don't normally participate in groups studies, even though many studies seem to be aimed at that, but I gained a lot from examining the material on my own.
This bible study is an eight-week-long course that caused me to delve into the things, people, experiences, etc. that have shaped my spiritual beliefs (and growth)--something I haven't really analysed that much in the past. It brought a lot of instances to mind and gave me a deeper understanding and appreciation for the people God has allowed to enter my life, and for His grace and forgiveness. I only scanned through the section designed for people leading group studies but from what I viewed, I feel it would proved to be a valuable tool for leaders.
