The Mountain Between Us

The first book I read by Charles Martin was Where the River Ends, and I fell in love with his storytelling gift. I love how he grabs the heart and squeezes every emotion out of it. Since then, I’ve devoured his books and have a shelf in my bookcase saved just for him. Long Way Gone, When Crickets Cry, Wrapped in Rain… the list goes on, and I’ve enjoyed every one.

And now, The Mountain Between Us. As always, when I finish another of his well-written, heart-tugging, soul-touching reads, I put it on top of my favorites list. Each book just gets better and better. I can’t wait for the movie. This is a beautiful story.

As I’ve mentioned in other reviews, I mainly read Women’s Fiction, which is usually written by…well…women. But there are some male writers who can capture the essence and heart of a woman’s psyche, and Charles Martin is one of the best.
