Even though this is the
second book in a series, I didn’t have any issues following the plot or
characters. This story is much deeper than I expected, causing much
self-examination and introspection. I am also impressed with the dual time
periods, and learned much about the history of the 17th century and
how—in many ways—things don’t change all that much.
With great writing,
interesting characters, melancholy emotions, and powerful themes, this story
kept my interest throughout. I’d love to read more in this series.
I received a complimentary copy of this
book from the publisher and was under no obligation to post a review.
