River to Redemption is more
than a love story. I learned so much about the cholera epidemic, slavery, and lessons of
selflessness. Each of the characters have their strengths and weaknesses, but I
was especially drawn to Louis.
The time period is one in
which I know little, but I was easily drawn in and walked within this troubling
time. I love the hope and reliance that forms the foundation of this story and
look forward to reading more by this author. My heart is full upon reading the
last page.
The story pulled me in
quickly, though the pacing slowed a bit around the middle of the book. I also want
to mention the pretty cover. It really spoke to me.
I received a complimentary copy of this
book from the publisher and was under no obligation to post a review.
