This is a cool YA fiction story
with great narration and vivid imagery. It’s a dark fantasy tale, with mentions
of angels and the tree of life, but no strong Christian ideals. I’m not sure
why it’s categorized as Christian fiction.
I was really impressed with
the imagery, especially if you listen to the narration of the audiobook. I
could picture the scenes so clearly, and settled quickly into the story. Abra
is an interesting character and I connected with her. There are many analogies that
made this interesting, even though this isn’t the usual genre I read.
If you’re looking for Christian
fiction, I don’t think this really fits the bill, but if you enjoy fantasy,
dystopian, or YA fiction, this is well-written with no pacing issues.
I received a complimentary copy of this
book from the publisher and was under no obligation to post a review.
