Beneath the Swirling Sky

I don't read a lot of middle-grade fiction, and even less (next to nothing) in the fantasy genre, but I must admit, Beneath the Swirling Sky took me by surprise.

I love the art, art history, and magical aspects of the story, sparking creativity and imagination in young readers. And what a fun adventure--traveling through historical paintings on a quest to find Vincent's kidnapped sister as well as finding himself.

There's no doubt young readers will connect with this story, whether they are art fans or not, and the deep themes will touch their hearts and minds.
